Slow SMS and email verification sending

The slow SMS and email verification resend issues have been resolved with last night's server deployment. We identified an error in the code, causing these functions to hang in the system and return a blank error pop-up. The fix is live and tested to be successful. Thank you for your patience as we looked into this matter.

We've identified the core issue, we're working to resolve it.

We have identified an issue with the SMS system where it takes a long time to send the text to the participant. We are also seeing similar delays and behavior when attempting to resend the email verification link. In most cases, it will eventually send both the email and the SMS, but it can take 30-60 seconds and will often display a blank error screen after it's sent.

We are investigating and will update when we know more.
